Detroit native Charity Ward is an indie artist known for her genre-blending sound, which combines elements of folk, jazz, soul, and more to create music that feels authentic and filled with love. Raised in a musical family, Charity’s passion for music blossomed at 13 under the mentorship of her first guitar teacher, Joel Palmer, who introduced her to the healing power of music and the storytelling tradition of folk. After studying Commercial Music at Tennessee State University, she returned to Detroit, where she built a name for herself, opening for artists like Raheem DeVaughn, Kindred the Family Soul, and Anthony David. Influenced by icons like Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, and John Mayer, Charity's music, including her recent release Sounds Like Love, strives to create the emotional depth and warmth of a home-cooked meal—genuine, heartfelt, and transformative.
